We have advised parties in more than thirty proceedings under all the major rules, including ICSID, UNCITRAL, and ICC, in both investment and commercial matters, acting as counsel from the first assessment of a claim through to the award and, where necessary, its enforcement or annulment. Our experience spans a range of sectors, with particular depth in energy, mining, natural resources, construction, telecoms, and technology implementation.

Javier has been appointed as an arbitrator in commercial matters and serves as an assistant to arbitral tribunals in complex investment and commercial cases. He has been appointed in proceedings under the ICC Rules and before the CAIP, and welcomes appointments in commercial disputes.

We advise investors on structuring and restructuring their cross-border investments to secure access to the protections available under international investment agreements. Working before any dispute arises, we help clients position their holdings so that the strongest possible treaty protections are in place should one later emerge.

We advise clients from the moment a disagreement arises, assessing the merits, mapping the options, and building the strategy best suited to their interests, including approaches designed to resolve the matter without recourse to arbitration.

We advise parties in proceedings before the French courts connected with international arbitration, including applications for interim and conservatory measures, as well as the enforcement and annulment of awards. As a Paris-based practice led by a French-qualified lawyer, JEDR is well placed to act wherever an arbitration intersects with the French courts.
